Headed home, Initial thoughts

Overcoming the fear of the unknown. It’s been 12 years since I’ve been home. Procrastination? Lack of time? Nothing to visit? No reason to be there? Just fear, it’s like when you hype up something for so long in your head, you keep building it up until you make yourself afraid of taking that initial chance. Kind of like losing your virginity.

The last time I was home, it wasn’t good. My mother was having an episode and at 16, I ended up having to greyhound to my aunts place in Santa Cruz, that day and that 6 hour bus ride was one I’ve tried to get out of my head for years. So here I am today, happily married, planning for a future, making preparations for our future family. All the meanwhile theres this nagging anxiety in the back of my mind, knowing its my duty, with all the work I’ve done on myself throughout these years, mental growth, emotional growth and processes to drop my blame, victimization and learning to live with PTSD …

MGV – Machine Guns Vegas

All I can start off with is, DO IT. You’ll have a “blast”… Part of my husbands bday present ( delayed trip as his birthday is in November) was his choice to either race his favourite car or go to the gun range. Secretly I was hoping he’d choose the gun range because I’ve always wanted to shoot a hand gun. Now I can proudly say I have, whilst admitting that the loud noises of the guns make me jump haha. I booked us in at MGV-Machine Gun Vegas under the Urban Assault  Experience for $99 each. Michael added an AK-47 for $54.95, a Desert Eagle .50cal for $65.00 and an RPK for $59.00 to his package. Well worth it. We got picked up at our hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned van, decked out with machine guns on top, and an awesome/friendly driver (don’t forget to always tip your drivers, especially for completely shuttle service). The drive to the compound was about 20 mins (there was one other pick up as well as traffic). When we arrived …

Christmas tree fire hazard

Just wanted to put out a public warning not to buy this tree topper from shoppers drugmart. Husband and I were putting up our decorations, turned on all the lights including our tree topper star. Enjoyed a drink and suddenly I could smell something was burning. It was our tree. The cord that attaches the stars batteries is done so with hot glue, which had completely melted due to the way the cords were connected and the metal bits were smoking, the whole unit was so hot that it melted the top of our tree. I know that one should not leave on their lights when they head out of the house but many do not follow that rule. Had we stepped out, it could have been a disaster, right before the holidays. We have a dog, we just lost one dog a few weeks ago, I can’t imagine the state is be in if we had lost another due to a fire in our apartment. So please save yourself the potential disaster and do …

Own Your Story: Vancouver workshop hosted by Ruby Fremon

My lovely spiritual sister Ruby Fremon is a transformational life coach as well as an energy healer and will be in Vancouver Saturday November 7th, 2015 hosting a workshop from 11 am – 1 pm Further information can be found at https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/own-your-story-vancouver-ruby-fremon?trk=prof-post The growth I have seen arise in Ruby over the years I have known her is very telling of her work. She has helped many, including myself come to terms with accepting and creating positive change in life and taking full control of your own actions. Living authentically and self-empowerment is the major gains I’ve received from our relationship. I encourage you all to take a look at what she has to offer and step outside of your comfort zone. Especially, if you find yourself in a never-ending cycle/rut and are looking for a new direction to take/new approach that works.
